The sight of ripe Litchis near my room where Istayed for two days in Tezpur, was simply awesome. So close to my window, fully ripe decorated the tree in red, otherwise normally coverred with deep green leaves. It truly was a pleasnat sight to behold, and a mouth watering experience. The red bunches hung so flawlessly, as if they were to decorate the giant tree, some almost kissing the gound below. No one dared to touch them though, let alone plugging, because the contrator's men kept a constant watch not only to keep prowling men, but also the ever menacing monkies and howering birds. They couldn't help plugging a few bunches for me as I climbed down near them with a request. I gently stuffed them in, to my carry bag. What a delight!!!
