The morning Buddies Badminton Club picnic at the SVR Spice Farm in Quepem, South Goa, was one of the most enjoyable outings in recent times. One huge improvement was the punctuality of members reporting on time. In the absence of ladies, who would otherwise have been nagging about food, timing of breakfast and lunch, quality of the food, etc., there was complete freedom— doing what we felt like. The swimming and the cricket and football matches between two instantly formed teams were the highlights. As usual, the the Karaoke singers of course never failed to entertain. 

Football and cricket matches were sources of solid laughter because the rules for scoring a goal, falling a wicket, and hitting fours and sixes changed instantly, and several times, depending on how well the team argued; one had to hold the stomach to control the laughter. 

The salad makers led by Abhijit were simply magical, and so were the barbequers, Saeesh and Rocky. They came out with mouth-watering delicacies like mixed vegetables and fruit salad and well-marinated prawns, barbecued in butter and spice. Oh, what a taste!!
